The identity of Ceratinostoma nudiseta Becker, 1907 (Diptera: Scathophagidae) and new taxonomic notes on the genus Spilogona Schnabl (Diptera: Muscidae)

The validity of Ceratinostoma nudiseta Becker, 1907 (Diptera, Scathophagidae) is discussed, and the species is transferred to the genus Spilogona of the family Muscidae. A redescription and figures of the habitus and male terminalia of Spilogona nudiseta (Becker, 1907) n. comb. are given. A comparison of this species with Spilogona obscura (Malloch, 1919) is given by means of modifications to existing identification keys. A new synonym is proposed: Spilogona mydaeinaformis Huckett, 1965 n. syn. of Spilogona tundrica (Schnabl, 1911).
