The purpose of this review is to present a review of the information on the relationship between vitamin B-6 and steroid hormone action. It includes a synopsis of the synthesis and distribution of vitamin B-6 throughout the body; a brief discussion of the role of B-6 in growth and development, neural function and immune surveillance; an examination of the role for vitamin B-6 in steroid hormone action; and a speculative discussion on the future directions and significance of research in this area.
