Genetic variability and relative contribution of component characters on yield of okra
2014
Singh, Sanjive K. | Sachan, C.P. | Singh, B.
Forty diverse genotypes of okra were studied during Kharif 2000 and 2001 in order to understand the variability and relative contribution of ten quantitative characters towards the yield. Wide ranges of variations were recorded for all the characters. The fruit yield per plant exhibited highly significant and positive correlation with length of fruit, number of fruit per plant, height of plant and number of nodes per plant at phenotypic level. Phenotypic coefficients of variation were higher than genotypic coefficient of variation for all the characters under study.
