Nutrition screening for malnutrition: potential economic impact at a community hospital
1993
Sayarath, V.G.
Malnutrition among hospitalized patients was first recognized as a problem in several landmark studies from the mid 1970s and early 1980s. These studies and others have identified an increased risk of morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients who are malnourished. The need for nutrition screening systems that identify malnourished hospitalized patients is evident and well supported by previous studies.
