Castillo-Gonzalez, A.M. | Avitia-Garcia, E. | Corona-Torres, T.
With the objective to determine the response of peach (Prunus persica (L.) Batsch) seedlings from Zacatecas to colonization and to know the efficacy of commercial mycorrhizal products, vegetative growth, leave, stem, and root dry weight, root volume, foliar area, leaf specific weight, a, b and total chlorophyll concentration in leaves, colonization percentage, and nutrient concentration in three months old peach seedlings inoculated with commercial endomycorrhizal products (composta inoculada Nocon, PHC Hortic Plus, and micorriza líquida Nocon) or fertilized with a commercial fertilizer (Abonare crecimiento) were evaluated. The best plant length (96 cm) was obtained with PHC Hortic Plus. The highest root dry weight (12.1 g) was obtained with the liquid mycorrhizae. None of the used products had any effect on the chlorophyll concentration in the leaves. The mycorrization percentage was low (composta inoculada Nocon 14%, PHC Hortic Plus 1%, and micorriza líquida Nocon 9%). There were no differences in P concentration between treatments (0.19 to 0.23%). The concentration of the other elements (N, K, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, and B) did not show any effect of mycorrhization, but of the nutrient content of the product.
