A field experiment was conducted during Kharifseason 2007 to study the effect of two levels of FYM (0 and 10 t ha⁻¹), three levels of nitrogen (80,100 and 120 kg ha⁻ˡ)and two levels of biofertilizer (without inoculation and with Azospirillum brasillense inoculation jon forage yield and quality. Results showed that increasing levels of FYM increased the green forage yield and quality (crude protein and crude fibre content). Application of FYM @ 10 t ha⁻¹ recorded highest total green forage yield (476.64 q ha⁻¹), and with, no FYM produced (444.42 q ha⁻¹). Higher values of crude protein and lowest values of crude fibre content were also observed by application of FYM @ 10 t ha⁻¹ during both the cuts. Increasing levels of nitrogen up to 100 kg ha⁻¹ significantly increased the total green forage yield and crude protein content in both the cuts but in case of crude fibre content higher values was observed by 80 kg N ha⁻ˡ. Seed inoculation with Azospirillum brasillense significantly increased green forage yield. In case of quality parameters Azospirillum inoculation failed to exert any significant effect on crude protein and crude fibre content.
