Designing attitude surveys for management action
1978
Rogers, Pauline B (Pauline Bonnie) | Gordon, George G.
A common shortcoming attributed to attitude surveys is their lack of integration into the management system. A case study illustrates one company's approach that provoked management into action. A survey related specific management processes and styles to high employee turnover and lowered profitability. Six interrelated areas of personnel management which were found to be highly related to effective performance are discussed. These areas are recruitment and selection, training, staffing, performance management, climate, and management style.
