New records of Stratiomyinae (Diptera: Stratiomyidae) from Arasbaran forests in Iran

The present faunistic study was performed in Arasbaran forests located in the northwest of Iran during the 2009–2012 period. A total of 11 species belonging to three genera of the family Stratiomyidae were collected, of which four species [ Odontomyia hydroleon (Linnaeus, 1758); Stratiomys equestris Meigen, 1835; Stratiomys concinna Meigen, 1822 and Stratiomys chamaeleon (Linnaeus, 1758)] were recorded in Iran for the first time. The list of species of the subfamily Stratiomyinae found in the studied area along with their diagnostic characters, geographical distribution and supplementary figures are provided.
