A field experiment was conducted to study the effect of plant activator (Manda-31) on growth and yield of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) hybrid (NS-501) during summer season, 2011. The results indicated that plants are sprayed with 7,500 ppmof plant activator (Manda-31), a significant increase was observed in days taken for first flowering, 50 per cent of flowering and 100 per cent of flowering at nursery stage, whereas per cent fruit set, number of fruits per plant, number of fruits per plot, average fruit weight, fruit yield per plant and yield per hectare were observed with 15,000 ppm of plant activator (Manda-31) sprayed at vegetative stage. However a significant enhancement in various qualitative parameters like TSS was recorded in 15,000 ppm of plant activator sprayed at vegetative stage, titratable acidity was recorded with 2,500 ppm of plant activator sprayed at nursery stage and ascorbic acid content was recorded with 10,000 ppm of plant activator sprayed at vegetative stage, while the maximum shelf-life and minimum PLW was recorded in plants sprayed with 5,000 ppm of plant activator at fruiting stage.
