Effect of Soil Water Content on the Growth of Adventitious Roots of Sunflower
1964
Stevenson, D. S. | Boersma, L.
SynopsisRoot growth was not dependent upon the water content of a sandy loam, but was markedly increased by increased initial water contents in a clay loam. The relationship was slightly curvilinear. Root growth as a result of water content or soil moisture suction treatments should be accounted for whenever the effects of water supply on absorption processes are under investigation. A technique involving the growth of adventitious roots was used.
