Low birth weight what should be done to deal with this global problem
1978
Petros-Barvazian, A. | Behar, M.
An overview of the problem of low birth weight (LBW) in developing nations focuses on its magnitude, factors associated with LBW, and solutions to the problem. High levels of maternal and child mortality and morbidity and adverse child development in these nations are associated with three interrelated conditions: malnutrition, infections, and unregulated fertility. Prenatal care and MCH (maternal and child health) and family planning care in general should help to reduce the number of LBW babies.
