Extract: This paper considers two major issues. the first involves the effect of changes in availability or price of energy on agricultural production. results of research by the Texas Agricultural Experiment Station on the High Plains of Texas provides some regional quantitative estimates of the impact on production. the second part of the paper considers development of energy sources in the U.S. and impact on resources and local communities.
