A report summarizes and discusses data developed from the 1st (1938) and 2nd (1944) national surveys of nutrition, the 1983 national dietary survey of adults, and apparent consumption data, concerning the present state of nutrition of Australian people. It is concluded that the data on diets and nutrition in Australia derived from the 1938 and 1944 surveys are suspect. Data summaries are included to illustrate this point.(wz)
