Note
The establishment and maintenance of the beech experiments were supported by The Danish Nature Agency’s fund for experimental silviculture during 1997–99 and by the agency’s core fund for forest research during 2003–04. The oak experiments were supported by the agency’s fund for experimental silviculture during 2002–07. The work time studies of pruning were supported by the agency’s fund for experimental silviculture during 2007–09, by Stina Werner’s Foundation, Sweden, during 2014–15 (beech) and by Erik Stenström’s Foundation for the Promotion of Oak Silviculture, Sweden, during 2014–15 (oak). During 2009–15 our work was also supported by core grants from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
