From the petrol extract of stem bark of Garuga pinnata a new euphane triterpene alcohol was isolated. The structure elucidation employing spectroscopic methods (UV, IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2D NMR) revealed this as 13 alpha,14 beta,17 alpha-lanosta-7,24-diene-1 beta,3 beta-diol.
