The paper presents the results and conclusions from several solutions to the problems of the issue. It is verified the newly designed survey method of the components of aboveground dendromass in the specific conditions of mountain forests. Expansion factors for the conversion of dry biomass (BEF) and carbon (CEF) from own samples of wood are evaluated. The total dry biomass and carbon stock biomass corresponding findings are derived in several ways known in the foreign and domestic literature. The results are together compared and it is derived the framework practically error range of the determination of dry biomass and carbon stocks in the experimental area represented the typical mountain forest ecosystem in the Poľana Biosphere Reserve.
