Extract: The objectives of this paper are (a) to analyze the microdynamics of structural change for important issues in the agricultral sector; (b) to present a brief comparison of Canadian and U.S. agricultural structure to open a discussion on the question: Are the Canadian conclusions applicable to the United States? and (c) to indicate the usefulness of the Statistics Canada longitudinal microdata base for understanding the process of structural change.
