Extract: The sources and adequacy of 11 minerals in adult male, infant, and toddler diets from the Food and Drug Administration's Total Diet Study have been summarized for Fiscal Year (FY) 1974 through mid-1982. Analysis of variance (Duncan's multiple-range test) was performed to determine the significance of differences in mineral levels of total diets and food commodity groups between years. Linear regression analysis was used to evaluate trends in the mineral content of the total diets and food commodity groups over time. (author)
