La Electrificadora de Santander S.A. E.S.P. empresa prestadora de servicios públicos en el sector de la energía, tiene como responsabilidad social empresarial propender por el desarrollo de la región. Bajo esta premisa y ante la solicitud inicial de disponibilidad de potencia por parte de la empresa minera Greystar Ltd. en cerca de 42 MW y de 5 MW por algunas otras empresas mineras de la región aledaña a los municipios de California y Vetas, la ESSA ve la urgente necesidad de realizar un análisis financiero al proyecto de ampliar la transmisión de energía en el sector, partiendo del hecho que hoy en día se posee una línea con un nivel de tensión de 34,5 KV con las siguientes especificaciones: ACSR calibre 4/0 cuya capacidad máxima de transporte es de 18 MVA la cual se soporta en postes y torres, posee un cable de guarda en acero calibre 5/16” y se posee una subestación con capacidad instalada de 5 MVA. Aprovechando los conocimientos adquiridos en la Especialización de Gerencia de Recursos Energéticos, nos hemos dado a la tarea de montar un modelo en Excel el cual nos servirá para realizar la valoración financiera de cualquier clase de proyecto que se presente y que requiera tomar la decisión más acertada, para realizar este análisis se utilizó el método de flujo de caja libre descontado. En este proyecto se realizó el estudio de varios escenarios, buscando la mejor opción con la cual se deba realizar el proyecto.

Under this premise and before the initial request for availability of power by the mining company Greystar Ltd. in about 42 MW and 5 MW by some other mining companies in the region bordering the municipalities of California and Vetas, ESSA sees the urgent need to carry out a financial analysis of the project to expand energy transmission in the sector, based on the fact that today there is a line with a voltage level of 34.5 KV with the following specifications: ACSR gauge 4 / 0, whose maximum transport capacity is 18 MVA, which is supported on poles and towers, has a 5/16 ”gauge steel wire rope and a substation with an installed capacity of 5 MVA. Taking advantage of the knowledge acquired in the Energy Resources Management Specialization, we have given ourselves the task of assembling an Excel model which will help us to carry out the financial valuation of any kind of project that arises and that requires making the right decision. The discounted free cash flow method was used to perform this analysis. In this project, the study of several scenarios was carried out, looking for the best option with which the project should be carried out.
