Gadfly infestation is an urgent problem for domestic reindeer husbandry in the Magadan region. Reducing the damage caused by gadfly infestations, increasing the productivity of reindeer husbandry, determined the relevance of this work. The research work was carried out in 2022 during expeditions to the reindeer husbandry farm of the Korkopsky Agricultural enterprise. The aim of the work was to select an effective remedy against edemagenosis and cefenomyiosis of reindeer. The species composition, seasonal dynamics, the daily rhythm of the activity of gadfly attacks on reindeer, and the selection of a drug for early chemotherapy were studied. The species composition of gadflies has been determined: nasopharyngeal – Cephenomyia trompe and subcutaneous – Oedemagen tarandi. The first subcutaneous and nasopharyngeal gadflies appeared at the beginning of the third decade of June at an air temperature of 11-13° with a wind speed of 1.7-1.8 m/sec, relative humidity of 53-56%. The gadfly flight lasted 28 days, and the mass one occurred on the first days of August. Deworming was carried out at the 1-st stage of gadfly invasion using ivermek. Based on the research, methods have been developed to combat gadfly infestation in reindeer herding farms of the Magadan region.
