Hidrodinámica y producción de ostión de la laguna El Cheve, sur de Pinar del Río, Cuba. | Hydrodynamics and oyster production of the lagoon El Cheve south of Pinar del Río, Cuba.

Se realizaron dos muestreos de cinco días cada uno, enero de 2011 y mayo de 2012, en la laguna El Cheve y estero Sábalo, con el objetivo de analizar la hidrodinámica y su efecto en la producción de ostión de mangle. Se seleccionaron seis puntos de muestreos según las características hidrográficas del sistema, registrando diferentes parámetros hidrológicos, en superficie y fondo, y mediciones de largo total de la concha a ostiones naturales (Crassostrea rhizophorae,Guilding 1828). Se calculó el balance hídrico y el tiempo de recambio de agua en el sistema según balance de flujos conservativos (agua y sal), y se analizó la variabilidad de la producción de ostión desde septiembre de 2010 a junio de 2012. Para el muestreo de enero de 2011, el sistema se clasificó como parcialmente mezclado con características semiestuarinas; en mayo de 2012 se clasificó como mezclado de tipo antiestuarino. Los procesos de solvatación y una limitación en la renovación de las aguas, por déficit en el aporte de aguas fluviales, sumado a un mal manejo del recurso ostión incidieron en la inestabilidad de la producción. El sistema presentó salinidades entre 34 y 43,9 ups y concentración de oxígeno de 0,1 a 6,2 mg L -1 ; con mejores condiciones hidrológicas y de la talla de ostión en la laguna, y relación estadísticamente significativa entre la talla y las variables temperatura, salinidad, oxígeno disuelto, pH y turbidez (R 2 = 0,98; p <0,05), según distribución horizontal.

They were carried out two samplings of five days each one, January 2011 and May 2012, in estuary Sábalo and lagoon El Cheve, with the objective of to analyze the hydrodynamics and their effect in the production of mangrove oyster. Six points of samplings were selected according to the hydrographic characteristic of the system, registering different hydrological parameters, in surface and bottom, and they were carried out measurements of total long of the shell to natural oysters (Crassostrea rhizophorae,Guilding 1828). It was calculated the hydrological balance and the time of renovation of water in the system according to water and salt budgets, and was analyzed the oyster production variability from September 2010 to June 2012. The system had semi-estuarine characteristics in January 2011, classified as partially mixed, and anti-estuarine in May 2012. Solvation processes and a limitation on renovation of the waters, due to supply deficit in river water, added to an oyster resource mishandling influence in the production instability. The system presented salinities from 34 to 43,9 ups and oxygen concentration from 0,1 to 6,2 mg L -1 ; with hydrological better conditions and of the oyster size in the lagoon, and relationship statistically significant between the size and the hydrological variables (R 2 =0,98; p < 0,05), according to horizontal distribution.
