Red porgy (Pagrus pagrus) fishery. Analysis of catches, nominal effort and landings structure in 2011. A descriptive analysis of red porgy (Pagrus pagrus) fishery within the Buenos Aires Coastal Ecosystem (BCE) and the Argentine continental shelf, between 34° S and 42° S, during 2011 was performed. The catches landed, of a total of 3,627 t, performed in a direct and incidental way by an heterogeneous fleet of 149 vessels belonging to five strata (Ia, Ib, Ic, IIa and IIb) in 1,527 fishing trips represented a 36.7% decrease as regards 2010. The spatiotemporal analysis allowed to determine that the highest yields of the species were obtained close to 50 m depth, that coincides with the highest surface temperatures in the area, that decrease in a northeast-southwest direction. A steady increase in the participation of the trawler fleet as regards the one using traps was observed. This study allowed to identify, besides, variations in the directionality of an important part of the fleet, that reduced the number of “directed” trips. The length structure (TL) landed reflected differences in the extractive methods that, in the case of non-selective gears (trawls), meant a lower TLmean and a higher percentage of juveniles as compared to those observed in the fleet that used traps. Landings showed a large presence of 2 and 3 year old individuals and a decrease of 4 year old specimens with respect to the participation registered in 2010.

En 2011 se realizó un análisis descriptivo de la pesquería de besugo (Pagrus pagrus) dentro del Ecosistema Costero Bonaerense (ECB) y la plataforma continental argentina, entre los 34° S y 42° S. Las capturas desembarcadas, de un total de 3.627 t, realizadas tanto en forma dirigida como incidental por una flota heterogénea de 149 buques pertenecientes a cinco estratos (Ia, Ib, Ic, IIa y IIb) en 1.527 viajes de pesca representaron una disminución del 36,7% respecto de 2010. El análisis espacio-temporal permitió determinar que los mayores rendimientos de la especie se obtuvieron cercanos a la isobata de 50 m, disminuyendo en sentido noreste-sudoeste y coincidiendo con las mayores temperaturas de superficie del área de operación de la flota. Se observó un aumento sostenido de la participación porcentual de la flota arrastrera en relación con la que utiliza nasas. El presente estudio permitió identificar, además, variaciones en la direccionalidad de un sector importante de la flota, que disminuyó el número de viajes del tipo “dirigido”. La estructura de tallas (LT) desembarcada reflejó diferencias en las modalidades de extracción que en el caso de artes no selectivas, como el arrastre de fondo, significaron una menor LTmed y un mayor porcentaje de juveniles en relación con los de la flota que utilizó nasas. Los desembarques mostraron una fuerte presencia de individuos de 2 y 3 años y una disminución del número de ejemplares de 4 años respecto al 2010.
