The present contribution summarizes results of fisheryinvestigations with standard cod gillnets and gillnetswith attached large meshes of 3.4 meter meshsizebuilt from rope of 6 mm diameter. Only the relativeefficiency of both nets for cod was investigated.A reduction of 70 % of catch by the attached mesheswas observed.
