Diversidad de macroinvertebrados en la plataforma continental de Ecuador | Diversity of macroinvertebrates on the continental shelf of Ecuador

Se analizaron los datos de pesca obtenidos en cuatro cruceros de investigación realizados por el B/I ”Tohalli” del Instituto Nacional de Pesca, durante los años 2003, 2005, 2006 y 2007 frente a la costa ecuatoriana, entre las latitudes 03~' 20'S y 00~' 45' N. Se estudió la riqueza y diversidad de especies de la fauna de macroinverterbrados bentónicos, su distribución por subáreas (A, B, C, D)y por estratos de profundidad. 10-30 m, 31-80 m y 81-200 m. Se identificaron 150 especies: 120 crustáceos, 15 moluscos, 13 equinodermos y dos cnidarios. La diversidad media estimada (H') del número de especies fue de moderada a baja (2,58; 1,86; 2,50 y 1,26) para los cuatro cruceros, respectivamente. La mayor riqueza de especies e índices de diversidad con valores más altos se registraron en las subáreas A y B, y en los estratos I y II. No se observaron diferencias significativas en la diversidad entre cruceros y entre los estratos de profundidad. Las especies más abundantes en los cruceros fueron cuatro especies de crustáceos de importancia comercial como las ”jaibas” <i>Protunus iridescens</i>, <i>Callinectes arcuatus</i>, <i>Callinectes toxotes</i> y ”camarón rojo” <i>Farfantepenaeus brevirostris</i> y entre los moluscos el ”calamar tubo o cigarro” <i>Loliolopsis diomedeae</i>.

Fishery data (between latitudes 03 ~' 20'S y 00~' 45' N) from four research cruises conducted by the B/I ”Tohalli” of the National Fisheries Institute, during the years 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007 off the coast of Ecuador. Was analyzed the species and diversity richness of macroinvertebrates benthic fauna and its distribution by sub-areas (A, B, C and D) and depth layers: 10-30 m, 31-80 m and 81-200 m. 150 species were identified, 120 crustaceans, 15 mollusks, 13 echinoderms and two cnidarians. The average diversity estimated (H') was from moderate to low (2,58, 1,86, 2,50 and 1,26) for the four cruises. The highest species richness and diversity index with the highest values were recorded in the subareas A and B, and in layers I and II. No significant differences in diversity among cruises and between the layers of depth was observed. The most abundant species in the cruises were: for crustaceans species of commercial importance such as the ”jaibas” <i>Protunus iridescens</i>, <i>Callinectes arcuatus</i>, <i>Callinectes toxotes</i> y ”camarón rojo” <i>Farfantepenaeus brevirostris</i> and among shellfish the ”cigar or tube squid” <i>Loliolopsis diomedeae</i>, were found.
