Impact of open uncontrolled landfills on the environment (on the example of Batumi).

With the increase in the rate of urbanization, there is a sharp deterioration of the ecological background, which is caused by increased anthropogenic impacts. One of the aspects is the increase in the amount of municipal solid waste and the problems associated with its management. For more than 50 years, scientists have been researching the harmful effects of open landfills on the environment and creating appropriate recommendations to reduce it. The topic is relevant, because the problem of open landfills in Georgia is active and the goal is to present the threats, to understand the scale of the problem on the example of Batumi landfill.
