GE-MIM presented a report at IODE-XVII in December 2002, which highlighted achievements of work done and intended actions till 2004. The 8th Session of GE-MIM was held at CSIRO Marine Research Laboratories, Hobart, Australia in September 2004. The Session reviewed the implementation of its 7th Session (a two-year period) and prepared a comprehensive work plan for the next inter-sessional period.
