This special issue of the Trade JournalNature Forest Landscape concernsthe Dutch interpretation of agrienvironmentalmanagement. The Dutchgovernment and Dutch farmers haveagreed on an approach that is typicalfor the Dutch conditions. In order tounderstand their approach, it is usefulto elaborate on the Dutch situation, inwhich agriculture and nature are strictlyseparated, and most of the CommonAgricultural Policy budget is provided bythe European Council’s first pillar.
