The phenomenon of dacha from the perspective of the concept of reciprocity: economic and sociological analysis | Феномен дачи с позиции концепции реципрокности: экономико-социологический анализ

The work is devoted to an economic and sociological analysis of dacha phenomenon from the perspective of the concept of reciprocity to identify the potential of dachas in the food supply of Russian population. The research was carried out using an interdisciplinary approach combining economic and sociological methods for a more complete solution of the tasks set. Dacha can be defined as a house usually located in the country that provides a place to live in the summer and a small land plot for crop cultivation or relax. An empirical analysis allowed establishing that the dacha, as a traditional social institution for Russia, a place for suburban recreation of citizens, gardening and an element of suburbanization, plays a significant role in the food supply of households. The dominant form of exchange of foods grown in dachas is a gift exchange, carried out through horizontal networks based on reciprocal interrelations. The results of the sociological research confirm that more than half of the respondents share their grown products with relatives and friends free of charge. In view of the low consumption level of vegetables and fruit by the Russian population, the continuing insufficient level of food independence, the contribution of the production of these foods in garden plots to filling the food market is estimated as high. This means a possibility of ensuring food sovereignty "from below", through wider participation of small producers in filling the local food market. The urgent task is to improve state support measures for the dacha institution as one of the social stabilizers.

russe. Работа посвящена экономико-социологическому анализу феномена дачи с позиции концепции реципрокности в целях выявления потенциала дач в продовольственном обеспечении населения. Исследование осуществлено с помощью междисциплинарного подхода, сочетающего экономические и социологические методы для более полного решения поставленных задач. Эмпирический анализ позволил установить, что дача как традиционный для России социальный институт, место для загородного отдыха граждан, ведения садоводства и элемент субурбанизации играет значительную роль в продовольственном обеспечении домохозяйств. Доминирующей формой обмена продуктами питания, выращенными на даче, является дарообмен, осуществляемый по горизонтальным сетям на основе реципрокных взаимоотношений. Результаты социологического исследования подтверждают, что более половины респондентов делятся выращенными продуктами с родственниками и знакомыми безвозмездно. Учитывая низкий уровень потребления овощей, фруктов населением, сохраняющийся недостаточный уровень продовольственной независимости, вклад производства данных продуктов на дачных участках в наполнении продовольственного рынка оценивается как высокий. Это означает возможность обеспечения продовольственного суверенитета "снизу", путем более широкого участия мелких производителей в наполнении продовольственного рынка. Актуальной задачей является совершенствование мер поддержки государством института "дача" как одного из социальных стабилизаторов общества.
