The article presents the results of electromagnetic radiation effect studying on seeds stored for a long time in the Azerbaijan National Genebank and determining the optimal exposure doses stimulating germination. The treatment was carried out both dry and soaked seeds, as well as distilled water intended for watering experimental seeds. The material for the study was the seeds of leguminous crops: pea, lentils, beans and faba beans. Evaluation of germination energy and viability of seeds was carried out by laboratory germination test. Analysis of the obtained data revealed a germination-stimulating effect of certain doses and exposures. In this case, watering the seeds with a treated dose of 600 Vt/dm3 for 10 seconds with distilled water turned out to be the most effective. The results obtained in the course of experimental studies suggest the possibility of using stimulating, characteristic for each species, doses of electromagnetic radiation to activate the primary processes of metabolism.
