Use of catalysts in the esterification of soapstock fatty acids.

The work is devoted to the issues of esterification of fatty acids. Catalysts for the process of esterification of fatty acids distilled from cotton and soybean soapstocks have been investigated. It has been established that a mixture of zinc with zinc oxide (1:1) gives the best results of the tested catalysts in the process of esterification of fatty acids with glycerol. Tab. 1, Ref. 2.
