It is worth mentioning that the making of the stoma is also a phenomenon that generates multiple psychosocial effects that directly influence the life condition of the patient in the postoperative period. The present study aims to ponder on intestinal stomas reflecting the interfaces and repercussions. This is a descriptive, qualitative study of the reflective analysis type, elaborated from a review of the literature about the "interfaces and repercussions of intestinal stomas". For this, a narrative review was carried out. Narrative review studies are publications with the purpose of describing and discussing the state of the art of a certain subject. With the objective of organizing and understanding the data that was collected from the present study, three categories with the following arguments were elaborated: Historical facts about intestinal stomas; Concepts and definitions facing Colostomy and Ileostomy; Interfaces of temporary/provisory and definitive intestinal stomas. Cabe mencionar que a confecção do estoma é ainda fenômeno gerador de múltiplos efeitos psicossociais que influenciam diretamente na condição de vida do paciente em pós-operatório. O presente estudo tem como objetivo ponderar sobre as estomias intestinais refletindo as interfaces e repercussões. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo, qualitativo do tipo análise reflexiva, elaborado a partir revisão da literatura sobre as “interfaces e repercussões das estomias intestinais”. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão narrativa. Os estudos de revisão narrativa são publicações com a finalidade de descrever e discutir o estado da arte de um determinado assunto. Com o objetivo de organizar e compreender os dados que foram coletados do presente estudo foram elaboradas três categorias com as seguintes arguições: Fatos históricos sobre as estomias intestinais; Conceitos e definições frente a colostomia e ileostomia; Interfaces das estomias intestinais temporária/provisória e definitiva. Nesse sentido, o estudo tem como objetivo ponderar sobre as estomias intestinais refletindo as interfaces e repercussões.
