Efecto de la altura y frecuencia de corte sobre tres variedades de maní forrajero (Arachis pintoi) en el estado Mérida: II. Características morfológicas y producción de semilla | Effect of height and frequency of cutting on three perennial peanut (Arachis pintoi) varieties in Mérida state: II Morphological characteristics and seed production

Con la finalidad de determinar el efecto de la altura y frecuencia de corte sobre algunas características morfológicas y producción de semillas en el maní forrajero se condujo un experimento en la finca Borbollón, localizada en Jají, estado Mérida, a una altitud de 1950 m.s.n.m. Se utilizó un diseño de experimento bloques al azar, con 3 repeticiones, en un arreglo factorial de los tratamientos en parcelas sub-subdivididas, donde en la parcela principal se aleatorizaron 3 variedades (V1: 17434, V2:18744 y V3:18748), en las parcelas secundarias se asignaron 2 frecuencias de corte (F1:35 días y F2:49 días) y en las parcelas sub-subdivididas 3 alturas de corte (H1:0 cm, H2:5 cm y H3:10 cm). En los 2 años de estudio, la relación hoja/tallo se incrementó con la altura de corte, especialmente en la frecuencia de 35 días, cuyo promedio pasó de 1,40 a 2,30; cuando la altura cambio de 0 a 10 cm, mientras que a 49 días solo aumentó de 1,83 a 2,31. El área foliar logró desarrollarse con la altura de corte, con valores promedios de 7,70, 10,03 y 10,87 cm² para 0, 5, 10 cm, respectivamente. La floración se estimuló 55% al reducir la altura de 10 a 5 cm y 182% al pasar de 5 cm a ras de suelo, sin embargo, la producción y el número de semillas acumuladas fueron similares para las alturas 0 y 5 cm, pero se duplicaron cuando se cosechó a 10 cm (1.459 kg/ha y 702,4 semillas/m²). El número de flores abiertas, producción y cantidad de semillas no aumentaron en forma significativa con los días de crecimiento. El número de raíces pivotantes disminuyó con la altura de corte en la frecuencia de 49 días, pero aumentó con la altura cuando se cortó a los 35 días. Se concluye que la altura y frecuencia de corte influyeron sobre las características morfológicas y en la producción de semilla de maní forrajero.

In order to obtain the effect of the height and frequency of cutting on some morphological characteristics and seed production in perennial peanut a field trial was carried at the Borbollón farm, located in Jají, Mérida state, at 1950 m.o.s.l,. A randomized blocks design with three replications was used, with a factorial split-split plot treatment arrangement, in the main plot, three varieties (V1: 17434, V2:18744 and V3:18748) were randomized, in the secondary plots, two frequencies of cutting (F1:35 days and F2:49 days) and in the split-split plots three heights of cutting (H1:0 cm, H2:5 cm and H3:10 cm). In the two years of study, the leaf/stem ratio increased with the height of cutting, specially for the frequency of 35 days, whose average passed from 1,40 to 2,30 leaf/stem ratio; with 0 and 10 cm of the height, respectively, but for 49 days, it increased from 1,83 to 2,31. Foliar area increased with height of cutting with averages values of 7,70; 10,03 and 10,87 cm² for 0, 5 and 10 cm, respectively. The flowering increased from 55% when the height of cutting change from 10 to 5 cm and 182%, it pass from 5 cm to ground level, however accumulated production and number of seeds were similar for 0 and 5 cm, but it duplicated when the height was 10 cm (1459 kg/ha and 702.4 seed/m² ). Open flower number, production and seed number did not increased significantly with days of regrowth. The number of main roots decreased with the height of cutting at 49 days, but it increased with height, when peanut was cut at 35 days. As a conclusion height and the frequency of cutting influenced the morphological characteristics and seed production of perennial peanut.
