Evaluación de tres sistemas de labranza en la recuperación de una pastura degradada de Brachiaria humidicola | Evaluation of three tillage systems in the recovery of a degraded pasture of Brachiaria humidicola

Durante tres años, en un suelo arenofrancoso de sabana en el estado Monagas, Venezuela, se evaluó el uso de la labranza en la recuperación de una pastura degradada de Brachiaria humidicola y la influencia sobre su comportamiento agronómico. Los tratamientos fueron: Pasto sin roturar (SR), rastra o labranza convencional (LC) y un pase de rastra mas un pase de subsolado o labranza profunda (LP), distribuidos en bloques al azar, con tres repeticiones de 1.100 m² c/u. Se fertilizó al voleo, aplicando al inicio 400 kg de fosforita acidulada y tres meses después con 100 kg de urea y 100 kg de K2SO4/ha. Al segundo año se reabonó con urea, K2SO4 y MgSO4 a razón de 100, 100 y 50 kg/ha, respectivamente. Durante los períodos húmedos y semihúmedo se cuantificó la cobertura, altura, frecuencia de aparición, producción de biomasa aérea en base seca (MS) y contenidos de fósforo, potasio, calcio y magnesio en  la planta. En todos los tratamientos hubo recuperación del pasto en las variables estudiadas. Entre los sistemas con roturación del suelo, el sistema LP propició recuperación rápida de la pastura en cuanto a cobertura y MS y difiere estadísticamente de los tratamientos SR y RC, mientras que en altura de la planta y frecuencia, el sistema SR muestra valores idénticos a LP; sin embargo, tales tratamientos al final del período experimental fueron similares. En los tres tratamientos evaluados los contenidos de fósforo y potasio satisfacen los niveles críticos de la planta y los requerimientos mínimos para bovinos a pastoreo, mientras esto no ocurre para calcio y magnesio.

During three years, on a sandy loam soil, in Monagas state savannas, Venezuela, it was evaluated the effect of tillage in the recovery of a degraded pasture of Brachiaria humidicola and its influence in the physical and chemistry properties of the soil. The treatments were: Pasture without tillage (WT), conventional harrow (CH), and one pass of harrow plus one pass of sub-soiling at 40 cm of deep (H+S), using a randomized block design, with three repetitions of 1100 m2  each. At the beginning of the experiment it was applied 400 kg of acidulated phosphate rock and three months later, 100 kg/ha of urea and 100 kg/ha of K2SO4. The second year it was applied urea, K2SO4 and MgSO4, using 100, 100 and 50 kg/ha, respectively. During the rainy and transition periods, it was measured the cover, height, frequency, production of aerial biomass in dry base, and contents of phosphorus, potassium, calcium, and magnesium in the plant. In all treatments, there was a recovery of the pasture in the studied variables. The H+S system caused a rapid recuperation of the pasture for cover and aerial biomass with statistical differences with treatments WT and CH, whereas for height and plant frequency, the systems WT and H+S showed identical values; however, these treatments were identical at the end of the experiment. In the evaluated treatments, the contents of phosphorus and potassium satisfied the critical values of the plant and the minimum requirements for bovines at grazing, but not for calcium and magnesium.
