El trabajo de investigación consistió en la elaboración de la propuesta de buenas prácticas avícolas orientadas al tratamiento del agua residual para la empresa avícola Santa Bárbara localizada en el municipio de Guayabal de Siquima en Cundinamarca, y para ello se realizó la identificación de las etapas del proceso, de las cuales se establecieron las de mayor afectación en la calidad del vertimiento de las aguas residuales, siendo el escaldado, enfriado con aire o chiller y el lavado de bodega las que generan una mayor cantidad de agua contaminada. Se definieron lineamientos de buenas prácticas en el proceso de beneficio animal, realizando una guía de seguimiento y control con el fin de reducir impactos generados en aras de la optimización vertimientos en fuentes receptoras. Para la selección de la tecnología más adecuada de tratamiento de aguas residuales se llevó a cabo una matriz comparativa de metodologías donde finalmente se seleccionó un proceso de tratamiento biológico aerobio de lodos activados con aireación extendida, antecedido de un sistema de pretratamiento mediante cribado grueso o rejillas y finalizado con un sedimentador secundario. Los lodos digeridos se plantean someterlos a deshidratación a través de lechos de secado de arena.

The research work consisted in the elaboration of the proposal of good poultry practices oriented to the treatment of wastewater for the poultry company Santa Bárbara located in the municipality of Guayabal de Siquima in Cundinamarca, and for this purpose, the identification of the stages of the process was carried out, of which the ones with the greatest effect on the quality of the wastewater discharge were established, with scalding, cooling with air or chiller and washing the winery those that generate the greatest amount of contaminated water. Good practice guidelines were defined in the animal benefit process, carrying out a monitoring and control guide in order to reduce impacts generated for the sake of optimization of discharges into receiving sources. In order to select the most appropriate wastewater treatment technology, a comparative matrix of methodologies was carried out, where finally an aerobic biological treatment process of activated sludge with extended aeration was selected, preceded by a pre-treatment system by means of coarse screening or grids and finished with a secondary sedimentation tank. The digested sludge is considered to be dehydrated through sand drying beds.
