Contribuciones del material impreso en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera durante el período de educación a distancia en el municipio de Saboyá | Contributions of printed material in the teaching of english as a foreign language during the distance education period in the municipality of Saboyá

El siguiente proyecto se centra en un método de investigación cualitativo llamado estudio de caso intrínseco, en el cual se pretende explorar y analizar las contribuciones del material impreso en la enseñanza del inglés como lengua extranjera, utilizado en cuatro instituciones públicas y primarias del área urbana y rural de Saboyá, Boyacá. Esto se desarrolla debido al aprendizaje a distancia que se llevó a cabo entre los meses de junio y noviembre de 2020. Los instrumentos utilizados para obtener la información fueron una encuesta, una entrevista estructurada y el material impreso que los docentes diseñaron. Los resultados de este estudio reflejaron los procesos de toma de decisiones que los profesores realizan al preparar sus clases, incluyendo temas de otras asignaturas, conocido como Aprendizaje Integrado de Contenido y Lenguaje (CLIL por sus siglas en inglés). Además, el diseño del material impreso fue apropiado para alcanzar los objetivos de la clase y ayudó a los estudiantes a mejorar sus habilidades de motricidad fina y vocabulario.

The following project is based on a qualitative intrinsic case study, which aims at exploring and analyzing the contributions of printed material in the teaching of English as a Foreign Language in four public and primary schools from rural and urban areas of Saboyá, Boyacá. It is developed due to the changes of undergoing distance learning between the months of June to November of 2020. The instruments used to collect information were a survey, a structured interview, and the printed material that teachers designed. The findings of the study showed the decision-making process that teachers carried out when planning their classes, including topics from other subjects, which is known as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL). In addition, the printed material’s design was suitable to achieve the class’ objectives and helped students to improve their fine motor skills and language vocabulary.
