Cracking insects that damage sugar beets (Coleoptera, Scarabaeidae, Elateridae)

The article provides information on some bioecological features, phenology, distribution of gravel beetles that damage plants in the areas of sugar beet cultivation in Azerbaijan. A special action plan is being developed and implemented to achieve high productivity on farms. The most important issue in such a comprehensive action plan should be the identification of insects that harm plants, their degree of damage, biological and environmental characteristics, economic importance and the development of effective measures to combat them. To this end, important issues such as growing ecologically clean products with a minimum use of chemicals that can cause environmental pollution and accumulate in human and animal organisms and cause various complications should be given more attention as the main requirements of the time.
