Modelagem da resistência estomática e estimativa da eficiência do uso da água em plantios jovens de eucalipto irrigados e não irrigados na região da Bacia do Rio Doce | Modelling of the stomatal resistence and estimate of the water use eficiency in young Eucalypt plantings irragated and nonirrigated in the Rio Doce’s watershed region

Realizou-se um experimento na região de Belo Oriente, Estado de Minas Gerais, com o objetivo de verificar como as variáveis meteorológicas influenciam as trocas gasosas entre o dossel e a atmosfera em plantios clonais de eucalipto (E. grandis x E. urophylla) em tratamentos irrigados e não irrigados, com dois anos de idade e também determinar a variação diária, sazonal e produtiva da eficiência do uso da água. Para verificar a influência das variáveis meteorológicas nas trocas gasosas foram realizadas três campanhas de coletas de dados em ambos tratamentos, onde foram coletados dados de condutância estomática a cada trinta minutos durante o período diurno e temperatura, umidade relativa, velocidade do vento e irradiância solar global a cada dez minutos, e a partir das interações destas variáveis meteorológicas foi possível modelar a resistência estomática. Na determinação da variação diária da eficiência do uso da água foram realizadas duas campanhas uma no período úmido e outra no período seco, onde foram coletados dados de fotossíntese líquida e de transpiração a cada noventa minutos durante o período diurno e com a relação destas variáveis se determinou a eficiência do uso da água para cada horário de coleta de dados. A variação sazonal da eficiência do uso da água foi obtida a partir da estimativa das médias mensais da transpiração pelo método de Penman-Monteith e da estimativa da fotossíntese pelo modelo proposto por Goudriaan e van Laar e a eficiência do uso produtivo da água, da relação do total de madeira útil produzida para a produção de celulose com o total de água transpirada no período de outubro de 2002 a agosto de 2003. Os modelos propostos para a resistência foram baseados no produto do déficit de pressão de vapor e temperatura com o inverso da irradiância solar global, e mostraram-se eficientes na simulação das flutuações diárias. No que diz respeito a variação diurna da eficiência do uso da água mostrou-se maior nas primeiras horas do dia para ambos os tratamentos, onde a condutância estomática e a concentração de dióxido de carbono eram maiores, a variação sazonal no tratamento não irrigado apresentou valores maiores no período seco, onde a disponibilidade de água foi menor, enquanto o tratamento irrigado não apresentou grandes variações ao longo do ano. A eficiência produtiva do uso da água embora inicialmente tenha sido verificado menor valor para o tratamento não irrigado a eficiência do uso da água foi sempre crescente ao longo do período de estudo fazendo com que a eficiência produtiva do uso da água para esse tratamento superasse a do tratamento irrigado.

An experiment was carried out in Belo Oriente region, Minas Gerais State, in order to verify the way how the meteorological variables affect the gaseous changes between the canopy and atmosphere in eucalyptus clone plantings (E. grandis x E. urophylla) aged two years in both irrigated and nonirrigated treatments, as well as to determine the daily, seasonal and productive variations of the efficiency in using the water. To verify the influence of the meteorological variables on the gaseous changes, three serial collections were accomplished in both treatments, where the data of the stomatal conductance were collected at every thirty minutes during day time, and those for temperature, air relative humidity, wind speed and global solar irradiance at every ten minutes. From the interactions among these meteorological variables, it was possible to model the stomatal resistance. When determining the daily variation in the water use efficiency, two serial collections were accomplished, being one over the rainy period and another over the dry period, where data of the net photosynthesis and transpiration were collected every ninety minutes during daytime. With the ratio between these variables, the water use efficiency was determined for each scheduled time of data collection. The seasonal variation of the efficiency in using water was obtained from either the estimate of the monthly transpiration averages by the Penman-Monteith method and the estimate of the photosynthesis by Goudriaan and van Laar’s proposed method, whereas productive efficiency of the water use was obtained from the ratio between the total useful wood cropped for the cellulose production and the total transpired water over the period from October 2002 to August 2003. The models proposed for the stomatal resistance were based on the product of the vapor pressure deficit and the temperature, which was divided by the global solar irradiance. They showed to be efficient in simulating the daily fluctuations. The daytime variation of the efficiency in using the water was shown to be higher at the first hours of the day for both treatments, where the stomatal conductance and the carbon dioxide concentration were higher. The seasonal variation in the nonirrigated treatment showed higher values over the dry period, where the availability of water was lower, whereas the irrigated treatment did not present wide variations throughout the year. Although a lower value was initially found for the nonirrigated treatment, the efficiency in using the water was always increasing during the study period, which led the productive efficiency in water use for this treatment to overcome the irrigated treatment.
