A soja é uma das culturas de maior importância econômica no Brasil e no mundo e contribui fortemente para a economia nacional. A utilização de seus grãos na alimentação humana encontra-se em crescente expansão. Por isso, a biofortificação agronômica dos grãos de soja pode representar importante ferramenta no combate às carências nutricionais da população, uma vez que visa enriquecer os alimentos por meio do manejo da cultura, em especial da adubação. Além disso, o enriquecimento de sementes com micronutrientes tem aumentado a produtividade das culturas. No entanto, pouco se conhece a respeito do potencial de acúmulo de Zn em grãos de soja, tampouco os efeitos deste enriquecimento na produtividade da cultura. Portanto, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o potencial de biofortificação de grãos de soja com Zn pelo manejo da adubação e os efeitos do enriquecimento na qualidade fisiológica das sementes e na produtividade da cultura. O estudo foi dividido em três etapas: enriquecimento dos grãos/sementes; avaliação da qualidade fisiológica das sementes enriquecidas e avaliação da produtividade das plantas oriundas das sementes enriquecidas com Zn. Todas elas foram conduzidas em casa de vegetação. O solo e o preparo do solo foram comuns na primeira e terceira etapa. Utilizou-se 4 dm³ de um Latossolo Vermelho-Amarelo da região de Viçosa-MG. A calagem foi feita utilizando uma mistura de CaCO 3 e MgCO 3 e o solo foi umedecido a 80 % da capacidade de campo e incubado por 15 d. As adubações foram realizadas de acordo com Novais et al. (1991). O P e o Zn foram aplicados no volume total do solo no dia do plantio. Os demais macro e micronutrientes foram parcelados em cinco aplicações. Foram cultivadas quatro plântulas da cultivar TMG 1175 RR. A Etapa de enriquecimento das sementes teve oito tratamentos, com três doses de fertilização de Zn no solo (0, 4 e 8 mg dm^-3) e seis doses foliares de Zn (0, 4, 8, 12, 16 e 24 kg ha^-1) combinadas com a dose de referência de 4 mg dm^-3 para o solo. Foi utilizado o delineamento em blocos casualizados com cinco repetições. A adubação foliar de Zn foi realizada no estádio R3 e a fonte de Zn utilizada foi o sulfato de zinco. Determinaram-se os componentes de produtividade e os teores de macro e micronutrientes nos grãos. Foi realizado o mapeamento microquímico das sementes em Espectrometria de microfluorescência de raios X por dispersão de energia (μEDXRF) para determinar a localização do Zn nas sementes. Na segunda etapa, as sementes com teor de Zn de 35,1 a 68,5 mg kg^-1 foram semeadas em leito de areia e realizou-se a contagem diária do número de plântulas emergidas. Foram determinadas a porcentagem de emergência (EP), o índice de velocidade de emergência de plântulas (IVE), a velocidade de emergência de plântulas (VE) e a massa de plântulas secas (mMS_Pl). O experimento da terceira etapa foi composto por dez tratamentos, constituído por um fatorial 2 x 5: doses de Zn no solo (0 e 4 mg dm^-3) e teores de Zn nas sementes (35,1; 51,5; 56,8; 62,5 e 68,5 mg kg^-1). Foram avaliados os componentes de produtividade. A aplicação de doses de Zn no solo e a combinação das aplicações no solo e nas folhas não tiveram efeito sobre a produção. No entanto, estas causaram aumento de 75 e 95 % no teor de Zn nos grãos, respectivamente, em relação ao controle. O teor máximo de Zn nos grãos foi 68,4 mg kg^-1, obtido com a dose foliar de 22,97 kg ha^-1 combinada com a aplicação de 4 mg dm^-3 no solo. Com exceção do Ca e Mg, o enriquecimento dos grãos com Zn não correlacionou-se significativamente com o teor dos demais macro e micronutrientes nos grãos. O Zn se acumulou preferencialmente no eixo embrionário, mas também houve acúmulo nos cotilédones das sementes ricas em Zn. O teor de Zn nos grãos de soja, na faixa entre 35,1 e 68,5 mg kg^-1, não teve efeito sobre o vigor das sementes. Analogamente, os componentes da produtividade não foram influenciados pelos teores de Zn nas sementes. Logo, a cultura da soja apresenta potencial para biofortificação dos grãos com Zn. Porém, este enriquecimento, na faixa de teor entre 35,1 e 68,5 mg kg^-1, não afeta a qualidade fisiológica de sementes e nem a produtividade da cultura em um solo com 0,67 mg dm^-3 de Zn por Mehlich-1.

Economically, soybean is one of the most important crops in the world, including Brazil and contributes heavily to the national economy. The use of its grains in human food has been increasing. Thus, the agronomic biofortification of soybeans can represent an important tool to alleviate the nutritional deficiencies of the population, as it aims to enrich the food through crop management, especially by fertilization. In addition, enrichment of seeds with micronutrients has increased yield crop. However, the potential accumulation of Zn in soybeans and the effects of this enrichment on crop yield are mostly unknown. Therefore, the objective of this research was to evaluate the potential of biofortification of soybean grains with Zn by the management of fertilization, the effects of the enrichment on the physiological quality of the seeds and the productivity of the crop. The research was splitted into three stages: grain / seed enrichment phase; Evaluation of the physiological quality of the enriched seeds and Evaluation of the productivity of the plants harvested from the Zn enriched seeds. All the steps of this research took place in a greenhouse of the Department of Soils - UFV. The Soil and soil preparation were common for both the first and third stages. Four dm³ of a Red-Yellow Latosol of the region of Viçosa-MG was used. The liming was done using a mixture of CaCO 3 and MgCO 3 and the soil was moistened at 80% field capacity and incubated for 15 d. Fertilizations were performed according to Novais (1991), where P and Zn were applied into the total soil volume on the seeding day. The others macro and micronutrients were spread into five applications. Four seedlings TMG 1175 RR cultivar were grown. The seed enrichment stage had eight treatments, with three doses of Zn fertilization in the soil (0, 4 and 8 mg dm^-3) and six leaf doses of Zn (0, 4, 8 , 12, 16 and 24 kg ha^-1) combined with the reference dose of 4 mg dm^-3 for the soil. A randomized complete block design with five replications was used. Foliar fertilization of Zn was carried out in stage R3 and the source of Zn used was zinc sulfate. The crop yield components and the macro and micronutrients contents in the grains were determined. The microchemical mapping of the seeds in energy dispersion X-ray microfluorescence spectrometry (μEDXRF) was performed to determine the location of the Zn in the seeds. In the second stage, seeds with Zn content varying from 35.10 to 68,52 mg kg^-1 were seeded in sand bed and the daily number of emerged seedlings was counted. The percentage of emergence (EP), seedling emergence velocity index (IVE), seedling emergence velocity (VE) and dry mass of seedlings (mMS_Pl) were determined. The experiment of the third stage consisted of ten treatments, consisting of a factorial 2 x 5, two doses of Zn in the soil (0 and 4 mg dm^-3) and five Zn contents in the seeds (35,10, 51,52 , 56.78, 62.50 and 68.52 mg kg -1 ). The components of crop productivity were evaluated. Data were submitted to analysis of variance, mean test and regression. The application of Zn doses in the soil and the combination of soil and leaf applications had no effect on crop yield. However, the Zn content in the grains increased from 74.7 to 95.0% compared to the control. The maximum content of Zn in the grains was 68.45 mg kg^-1, obtained from the leaf dose of 27 kg ha^-1, combined with the application of 4 mg dm^-3 in the soil. The enrichment of the grains with Zn had little or no relation with the content of the other macro and micronutrients in the grains. Zn accumulated preferentially in the embryonic axis, but there was also accumulation in the cotyledons of the most enriched seeds. The Zn content in soybean grains, in the range of 35.1 to 68.5 mg kg^-1, had no effect on the EP, IVE, VE and mMS_Pl variables. Similarly, the variables that make up the productive aspects of soybean did not show significant variations due to the variation in Zn content in the seeds. Thus, it is verified that the soybean crop presents potential for biofortification of its grains with Zn. However, this enrichment in the range of 35.1 to 68.5 mg kg^-1 did not show significant variations on the physiological seed quality neither on crop yield in a soil with 0.67 mg dm^-3 of Zn per Mehlich-1.
