Estudo da transesterificação de óleo de soja e gordura suína com óleo fúsel | Study of transesterification of soybean oil and hog fat through fusel oil

A maior parte do biodiesel no Brasil é produzido com óleo de soja, por via metílica. Neste trabalho foi proposto um processo produtivo em menor escala utilizando como matéria-prima óleo fúsel e gordura suína. O óleo fúsel é um resíduo de usina de álcool, composto basicamente por alcoóis superiores, com maior concentração de álcool isoamílico. O trabalho foi dividido em três capítulos. Inicialmente foi realizada caracterização físico-química do óleo fúsel, da gordura suína, do óleo de soja e também foi analisada uma mistura de 50 % m/m de óleo de soja e 50 % m/m de gordura suína. O óleo fúsel passou por um processo de destilação e desumidificação, com estes procedimentos foi reduzido seu teor água e houve uma concentração dos alcoóis superiores; fatores preponderantes para uma maior conversão das matérias-primas em ésteres. Antes de iniciar a produção do biodiesel experimental foi necessário otimizar as condições reacionais. O tempo de reação foi de 1 hora, sendo a temperatura inicial de 45 °C e a temperatura de saída do reator de 60 °C. Foi utilizado um sistema de reatores em série. O rendimento, calculado pela conversão da matéria-prima em ésteres; no reator 1 foi de 29,0 % e no reator 2 foi de 79 %. Foram realizadas análises físico-químicas do biodiesel experimental e os valores foram comparados com os limites estabelecidos pela ANP. Foram formados ésteres de cadeia longa. Os valores de índice de acidez, índice de iodo, ponto de inflamação, umidade, glicerina total e ponto de fulgor apresentaram-se dentro dos limites estabelecidos pela ANP. Já os valores de massa específica a 20 °C e ponto de névoa diferiram um pouco dos padrões da ANP. No capítulo 3 foram calculadas as variáveis financeiras de uma planta com produção diária de 50 toneladas de biodiesel por dia. Foram simulados quatro projetos, o biodiesel 1 simulado com óleo de fúsel e mistura de óleo de soja e gordura suína; o biodiesel 2 foi simulado com óleo fúsel e óleo de soja; o biodiesel 3 foi simulado com metanol e óleo de soja e; o biodiesel 4 foi simulado com metanol e mistura de óleo de soja e gordura suína. De acordo com os indicadores, os projetos 3 e 4, simulados com metanol apresentaram viabilidade econômico-financeira. Já os projetos 1 e 2, simulados com óleo fúsel não apresentaram viabilidade econômico-financeira, pois os custos de sua produção foram superiores as receitas geradas com o valor de venda do biodiesel experimental.

The most part of biodiesel in Brazil is produced with soybean oil through methyl. In this research was proposed a productive process in minimum scale using as raw material fusel oil and hog fat. The fusel oil is a residue from alcohol industry, compounded basically of superior alcohols with most part of concentrated isoamyl alcohol. This work was divided into three chapters. First of all was made a physical and chemical characterization from the fusel oil, hog fat and soybean oil besides a mixture analysis where 50% m/m from the soybean oil and 50% m/m from the hog fat. The fusel oil suffered a distillation and dehumidifying process and through this procedures was reduced its water percentage occurring alcohols superior concentration and this factors lead to the biggest conversion from the raw material in esters. Before the beginning of experimental biodiesel production was necessary to optimize the reactional conditions. The reaction time was about 1hour, where the initial temperature 45°C and the reactor exit temperature 60°C. It was used a series reactors system. The income was calculated by the conversion from the raw material in esters; in the reactor 1 it was 29% and in the reactor 2 it was 79%. During the process were made physical and chemical analysis from the experimental biodiesel and the results were compared to the limits established by the ANP. The esters made belong to long chains. The results of acid rates, iodine rates, inflammation point, moisture, total glycerin and glow point presented into the limits established by the ANP. On the other hand the results from specific mass into 20 °C and cloud point were different from the patterns established. Into the chapter 3 were calculated the financial variables from a plant with a daily production from 50 tons of biodiesel. It was simulated four projects: the biodiesel 1 simulated with fusel oil and soybean oil and hog fat mixture; the biodiesel 2 simulated with fusel oil and soybean oil; the biodiesel 3 simulated with methanol and soybean oil; the biodiesel 4 simulated with methanol and mixture of soybean oil and hog fat. According to the gauges, the 3 and 4 projects, simulated with methanol presented financial and economical viability. In the other hand, the 1 and 2 projects, simulated with fusel oil didn’t present the same viability because of the costs of their production were superior to the conceived revenues with the results of the experimental biodiesel sale.
