Estimativa dos componentes superficiais do balanço hídrico no bioma Mata Atlântica - modelo de superfície INLAND | Estimated of the surface components of the water balance in the Atlantic Forest biome - INLAND surface model

O bioma Mata Atlântica abriga uma das maiores florestas tropicais da América e vem sofrendo grande perda de seu habitat natural. Atualmente existem poucos estudos realizados para este bioma com o intuito de entender como o desmatamento pode influenciar no balanço hídrico das bacias hidrográficas. Para que estudos envolvendo a dinâmica do ciclo hidrológico na Mata Atlântica sejam realizados, é fundamental que os modelos simulem satisfatoriamente as interações entre a atmosfera e biosfera no bioma. Assim, o objetivo principal deste trabalho é entender como o ciclo hidrológico da região de Mata Atlântica é afetado pela mudança do uso do solo. Na primeira parte do trabalho o modelo de superfície INLAND foi calibrado e validado para este bioma. Após foram analisadas as mudanças na precipitação sobre o bioma e a influência do desmatamento nas componentes superficiais do ciclo hidrológico. A mudança na precipitação foi analisada através de teste de tendência e comparação entre dois períodos. Já para a influência do desmatamento nos componentes superficiais do ciclo hidrológico, foram simulados e comparados dois cenários de ciclo hidrológico. Além disto, foi estimada a mudança na partição da chuva entre os componentes superficiais do balanço hídrico, de acordo com o desmatamento. Os resultados mostraram que o escoamento total no cenário com desmatamento durante o período 1951-1960 foi, em média, 16,82% inferior ao valor encontrado para o período de 1971-1980. A precipitação aumentou em média nas regiões sul e sudeste, em 4,85%, sendo significativa ao nível de confiança de 95%. A utilização da modelagem também possibilitou estimar o comportamento da diferença entre a evapotranspiração e do escoamento total simulados com a ocorrência de desmatamento e com a área inteiramente preservada. Foi observado que o bioma Mata Atlântica apresenta certa resiliência ao desmatamento até determinado momento, a partir do qual a evapotranspiração diminui e o escoamento total aumenta. The Atlantic Forest biome home one of the America’s largest rainforests which has been suffering a great loss of its natural habitat. Currently, there are few studies carried out in the biome in order to understand how deforestation can influence the water balance of the hydrographic basins. This lack of studies can be explained, at least in part, by the lack of emphasis that this biome has received in the process of improving surface models. Thus, the main objective of this research is to understand how the hydrological cycle of the Atlantic Forest region is affected by the change in land use. The first part of this work, the INLAND surface model was calibrated and validated for Atlantic Forest biome. Afterwards, changes in precipitation over the biome and the influence of deforestation on the surface components of the hydrological cycle were analyzed. The change in precipitation was analyzed through a trend test and comparison between two periods. For the influence of deforestation on the surface components of the hydrological cycle, two scenarios of hydrological cycle were simulated and compared. In addition, the change in the rain partition between the surface components of the water balance was estimated, according to deforestation. The results showed that the total runoff in deforestation scenario during the period between 1951-1960 was, on average, 16.82% lower than the value found for the period between 1971-1980. Precipitation increased on average in the south and southeast regions, by 4.85%, significant at the 95% confidence level. The use of modeling also made it possible to estimate the behavior of the difference between evapotranspiration and total runoff simulated with the occurrence of deforestation and with the area entirely preserved. It was observed that the Atlantic Forest biome has certain resilience to deforestation until a certain moment, after which evapotranspiration decreases and the total runoff increases.
