El estudio de pertinencia y factibilidad se centra en evaluar la conveniencia y viabilidad de obtener la acreditación en alta calidad para el programa de Ingeniería Ambiental en el contexto específico de interés. Se llevó a cabo un análisis exhaustivo de diversos aspectos, incluyendo la demanda del mercado laboral, las necesidades de la sociedad, la infraestructura académica disponible y las políticas gubernamentales relacionadas con el medio ambiente. A través de la recopilación y análisis de datos relevantes, se buscó identificar la demanda potencial de profesionales en Ingeniería ambiental, así como las áreas específicas de intervención requeridas en el entorno local. Además, se evaluó la capacidad de la institución educativa para ofrecer una formación de calidad en esta disciplina considerando la disponibilidad de recursos humanos, infraestructura y tecnología necesarios. Este estudio tiene como objetivo evaluar la factibilidad y pertinencia del programa de Ingeniería Ambiental de la Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca (UCEVA). La finalidad es desarrollar un conjunto de recomendaciones fundamentadas que no solo apoyen la viabilidad del programa en términos académicos y logísticos, sino que también aseguren que esté alineado con las necesidades del entorno social y las demandas del mercado laboral actual. El estudio se enfoca en cómo el programa puede contribuir al desarrollo sostenible de la región y a la protección del medio ambiente, respondiendo a los retos globales y locales en materia ambiental. A través de un análisis exhaustivo de las capacidades institucionales, recursos disponibles, y el contexto socioeconómico, se busca garantizar que el programa no solo cumpla con los estándares de calidad educativa para la obtención de la renovación de su registro calificado y su posterior acreditación, sino que también tenga un impacto positivo en la comunidad, facilitando la formación de profesionales altamente capacitados para enfrentar los desafíos ambientales contemporáneos cumpliendo la promesa de valor realizada desde su perfil de egreso.

The relevance and feasibility study focuses on assessing the convenience and viability of obtaining high-quality accreditation for the Environmental Engineering program in the specific context of interest. A thorough analysis of various aspects was carried out, including the demand of the labor market, the needs of society, the available academic infrastructure, and government policies related to the environment. Through the collection and analysis of relevant data, the potential demand for professionals in Environmental Engineering was identified, as well as the specific areas of intervention required in the local environment. In addition, the capacity of the educational institution to offer quality training in this discipline was evaluated, considering the availability of necessary human resources, infrastructure, and technology. This study aims to assess the feasibility and relevance of the Environmental Engineering program of the Central Unit of Valle del Cauca (UCEVA). The purpose is to develop a set of well-founded recommendations that not only support the viability of the program in academic and logistical terms, but also ensure that it is aligned with the needs of the social environment and the demands of the current labor market. The study focuses on how the program can contribute to the sustainable development of the region and to the protection of the environment, responding to global and local environmental challenges. Through an exhaustive analysis of institutional capacities, available resources, and the socioeconomic context, it seeks to ensure that the program not only meets the educational quality standards for obtaining the renewal of its qualified registration and its subsequent accreditation, but also has a positive impact on the community, facilitating the training of highly qualified professionals to face contemporary environmental challenges, fulfilling the value promise made from its graduate profile.
