Ziel des erstellten Antibiotika-Informationssystems ýVetAbisý war es, den Tierarzt in der Rinderpraxis durch die Bereitstellung leicht zuganglicher und aktueller Informationen bei dem geforderten verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Antibiotika zu unterstutzen. Zunachst wurden die zur Verfugung stehenden Informationsquellen zusammengestellt und deren Vor- und Nachteile analysiert. Dabei zeigte sich, dass die zur Zeit fur einen sorgfaltigen Umgang mit Antibiotika notwendigen Informationen verstreut in einer Vielzahl von Quellen vorliegen. Fur den praktizierenden Tierarzt sind aktuelle Versionen nur beschrankt oder nur mit großerem zeitlichen und finanziellen Aufwand zuganglich. Mittels zweier Umfragen konnte gezeigt werden, dass hinsichtlich der Therapie mit Antibiotika bei den befragten Tierarzten Unsicherheiten und ein Bedarf an aktuellen und schnell zuganglichen Informationen bestehen. Zur Einschatzung der aktuellen Resistenzlage, der zur Verfugung stehenden Testverfahren und der moglichen Verallgemeinerung der daraus resultierenden Ergebnisse wurden in einer weiteren Umfrage Meinungen von Experten eingeholt. Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde das internetbasierte Antibiotika- Informationssystem ýVetAbisý (www.vetabis.de) erstellt, das zur Zeit 1489 Dateien umfasst. Das Informations-system beinhaltet einen offentlichen Besucher-Bereich fur Landwirte, Verbraucher und Tierarzte, die ýVetAbisý zum ersten Mal besuchen und einen Passwort geschutzten Tierarzte-Bereich. In diesem Bereich findet der Tierarzt Informationen uber die antibakteriellen Wirkstoffe, Grundregeln fur einen sorgfaltigen Umgang mit Antibiotika, wichtige arzneimittelrechtliche Vorschriften, Hintergrundwissen uber Antibiotika-Resistenzen und Maßnahmen, die zu einer Reduktion des Bedarfs an Antibiotika beitragen konnen. Das Informationssystem stellt zunachst ein Grundgerust dar, das in der Zukunft vor allem in den Bereichen ýPraparateý und ýaktuelle Resistenzlageý erweitert werden muss. Das Internet bietet die Moglichkeit, aktuelle Informationen innerhalb kurzester Zeit bereit zu stellen, die der Tierarzt jederzeit, schnell und kostenneutral abrufen kann. Die Beteiligung von Experten bei der Erstellung der Texte und die Quellenangaben gewahrleisten ein hohes Maß an Qualitat und Seriositat der Informationen. Das erstellte Informationssystem ýVetAbisý ermoglicht dem Nutzer, je nach Informationsbedarf unterschiedlich tief in die verschiedenen Informationsebenen vorzudringen. Durch eine ubersichtliche Strukturierung und eine intuitive Navigation konnen auch nicht mit der Nutzung des Internets vertraute Tierarzte durch das Informationssystem navigieren.

The objective of the internet based informationsystem ýVetAbisý was to support the bovine practitioners within the implementation of a prudent use of antibiotics by presenting the current knowledge in the internet. Various sources of information have been compiled and analysed. It became obvious that relevant information is scattered over multiple sources (e.g. textbooks, journals, drug guides). They are rarely up to date and not easily accesible to veterinarians without timely and financial expense. Two surveys showed uncertainities in the use of antibiotics and a demand for information among the veterinarians. Experts were asked for their opinion about the development of resistance, the available testing methods and the validity to generalize the results of these methods. Within this project the internet based informationsystem for antibiotics ýVetAbisý (www.vetabis.de) was developed. As of today it consists of 1489 files. The publicly accessible area is designed for farmers, consumers of food of animal origin and veterinarians, who have not visited ýVetAbisý before. The password-protected area is targeted towards veterinarians. In this area veterinarians get information about the characteristics of the antimicrobial substances, several guidelines for a prudent use of antibiotics, important regulations and laws, background knowledge about antibiotic-resistance and alternatives to reduce the amount of antibiotics. This informationsystem is a framework that should be expanded primarily in the areas ýproductsý and ýinformations on the current resistance patternsý in the future. The internet offers the opportunity to present the current knowledge about antibiotics at the practising veterinarians disposal at anytime and anywhere without incurring costs. The input of experts and the references guarantee a high quality and respectability of the information. Depending on his demand of information the user can advance as deep as necessary in to the different levels of the informationsystem ýVetAbisý. Because of the userfriendly structure and the intuitive navigation even veterinarians, who are not used to the internet, can easily navigate through this informationsystem.
