The oroanochlorine insecticide residues levels in water-cress (Nasturtium officinale R. Br.) and in the acuatic snail Melanopsis sp. of two acuatic ecosystems have been investigated by gas-chromatography techniques. Three types of insecticides were investigated: Hexachlorocyclohexa--nes (HCHs), Cyclodienes (CDs) and Dichlorodiphenylethanes (DDTs). HCHs residues are quantitatively predominating in the samples inves¬tigated with mean levels of 2.242 and 2.867 ppm dry weight in Nasturtium and 1.166 and 1.047 ppm wet weight in Melanopsis. The concentration factors in water-cress are 3106 and 5039 for the HCHs; 2100 and 1727 for the CDs and 750 and 3800 for the DDTs. These quantities in Melanopsis were: "1546 and 1840, 5900 and 6909, and 4419 and 8167, respectively.

Br.) y de los caracoles acuáticos Melanopsis sp., ambos posibles fuentes de alimento del cangrejo de rio. De los tres gru¬pos de pesticidas organoclorados que se investigan: hexaclorociclohexanos (HCH!s ), ciclodienos (CDs) y diclorodUeníletanos (DDTs), los HCHs son los de mayor importancia cuantitativa y alcanzan unos niveles medios, en los Nasturtium de cada una de las dos localidades estudiadas, de 2.242 y 2.867 ppm (peso seco); y en los Melanopsis, de 1.166 y 1.047 ppm (peso fresco). Los coeficientes de acumulación en los berros han sido de 3106 y 5039, para los HCHs; 2100 y 1727, para los CDs; y 750 y 3800, para los DDTs. Estas cifras son, para los Melanopsis, de 1546 y 1840, 6909, y 4419 8167, respectivamente.
