Influencia del apego en la obesidad

El apego constituye la necesidad que tienen los seres humanos para desarrollar vínculos afectivos con sus cuidadores primarios y así obtener seguridad, confianza y afecto, características que le ayudarán a adaptarse a su entorno. El estilo de apego puede clasificarse en dos categorías: seguro e inseguro. Los niños con estilo de apego seguro muestran mayor confianza con ellos mismos y en su exploración con su entorno, siendo receptivos a recibir apoyo y logrando mayor autonomía. Los niños con apego inseguro tienen dificultades para relacionarse con los demás al contemplar el entorno como amenazante y peligroso y a sus cuidadores como intrusivos e inestables, de forma que interrumpen su exploración por los niveles de angustia e inseguridad que padecen. La obesidad constituye uno de los grandes problemas de la salud pública actualmente, siendo uno de los factores de riesgo de mortandad prematura en todo el mundo. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar los efectos que tiene el apego en el desarrollo de la obesidad. Se realiza un estudio descriptivo de revisión bibliográfica sobre la influencia del apego en la obesidad desde una búsqueda de publicaciones relacionadas con los términos de apego y obesidad en la base de datos Pubmed, Google Scholar, Dialnet y ProQuest. Los estudios seleccionados evidencian que existe una influencia significativa del apego en todas las etapas evolutivas del ser humano tanto en el desarrollo de la obesidad como en su tratamiento, y se identifica que el estilo de apego más predominante era el apego inseguro. Estos resultados pueden acercarnos a desarrollar estrategias de intervención óptimas para erradicar esta epidemia de obesidad.

Attachment is the need that human beings have to develop affective bonds with their primary caregivers in order to obtain security, trust and affection, characteristics that will help them adapt to their environment. Attachment style can be classified into two categories: secure and insecure. Children with a secure attachment style show greater confidence in themselves and in their exploration of their environment, being open to receiving support and achieving greater autonomy. Children with insecure attachment have difficulties in relating to others as they view the environment as threatening and dangerous and their caregivers as intrusive and unstable, so they interrupt their exploration because of the levels of distress and insecurity they suffer. Obesity is currently one of the biggest public health problems, being one of the risk factors of premature mortality worldwide. The objective of this study is to analyze the effects that attachment has on the development of obesity. A descriptive study of the literature review on the influence of attachment on obesity is made from a search of publications related to the terms of attachment and obesity in the Pubmed database, Google Scholar, Dialnet and ProQuest. The selected studies show that there is a significant influence of attachment in all the evolutionary stages of human beings both in the development of the obesity and in its treatment, and insecure attachment is identified as the most predominant attachment style. These results can bring us closer to developing optimal intervention strategies to eradicate this obesity epidemic.

La inclinació constitueix la necessitat que tenen els éssers humans per a desenvolupar vincles afectius amb els seus cuidadors primaris i així obtenir seguretat, confiança i afecte, característiques que l'ajudaran a adaptar-se al seu entorn. L'estil d'inclinació pot classificar-se en dues categories: segur i insegur. Els nens amb estil d'inclinació segur mostren major confiança amb ells mateixos i en la seva exploració amb el seu entorn, sent receptius a rebre suport i aconseguint major autonomia. Els nens amb inclinació insegura tenen dificultats per a relacionar-se amb els altres en contemplar l'entorn com a amenaçador i perillós i als seus cuidadors com a intrusius i inestables, de manera que interrompen la seva exploració pels nivells d'angoixa i inseguretat que pateixen. L'obesitat constitueix un dels grans problemes de la salut pública actualment, sent un dels factors de risc de mortaldat prematura a tot el món. L'objectiu d'aquest estudi és analitzar els efectes que té la inclinació en el desenvolupament de l'obesitat. Es realitza un estudi descriptiu de revisió bibliogràfica sobre la influència de la inclinació en l'obesitat des d'una cerca de publicacions relacionades amb els termes d'inclinació i obesitat en la base de dades Pubmed, Google Scholar, Dialnet i ProQuest. Els estudis seleccionats evidencien que existeix una influència significativa de la inclinació en totes les etapes evolutives de l'ésser humà tant en el desenvolupament de l'obesitat com en el seu tractament, i s'identifica que l'estil d'inclinació més predominant era la inclinació insegura. Aquests resultats poden acostar-nos a desenvolupar estratègies d'intervenció òptimes per a erradicar aquesta epidèmia d'obesitat.
