Characterization of clay-polyoxyethylene based membranes using AC impedance spectroscopy

Preliminary results showing the utility of the impedance spectroscopy technique for characterizing composite membranes obtained by intercalation of polyoxyethylene into montmorillonite clay mineral are presented. The ionic resistance of these membranes was studied as a function of the contact time in various saline solutions.
