Coral fluorescence: a prey-lure in deep habitats

Plankton show preferential swimming towards fluorescent cues compared to non-fluorescent targets in both the laboratory and the sea. Further, green fluorescence enhances predation success, suggesting a prey-luring effect of fluorescence in corals.
