Interrelation of anthocyanin expression between flowers and leaves in cyclamen
2015
Takamura, T. | Hamada, S.
Anthocyanins in the petals, peduncles and leaves of cyanic cyclamens were investigated. The main anthocyanins in the all organs, except petal slips, were malvidin glycosides in the cyanic cyclamens used in the present study. The plants containing 3,5-diglucoside type anthocyanins in the petal slips as the main anthocyanin contained malvidin 3,5-diglucoside as the main anthocyanin in the petal eyes, peduncles, leaf blades and petioles. On the other hand, the plants with 3-glucoside or 3-neohesperidoside type anthocyanin in the petal slips contained malvidin 3-glucoside as the main anthocyanin in other organs. These results suggested that there is an interrelation of glycosylation in 5-position of anthocyanins between flowers and leaves in cyclamen.
