2015
Sakurai, R. | Kobori, H.
Public participation in conservation and monitoring of natural environment has been becoming popular. We conducted a survey on university students (n= 139) at Tokyo City university, located in Yokohama city, to understand their awareness and willingness to participate in conservation and monitoring activities. Results revealed that majority of students (55.3%) were willing to participate in activities and female students were more specific about the contents of activities they wanted to participate. Multiple regression analysis revealed that awareness of nature conservation activities, experience of these activities, interests in volunteer and/or group activities, and engagement in part-time job significantly affected students' willingness to participate in nature conservation activities (p<0.05).
