Obtención de productos químicos finos a partir de guayacol mediante reacciones de alquilación y acilación | Obtaining fine chemicals from guayacol through alkylation and acylation reactions

En esta tesis, se propone la transformación de guayacol en productos valiosos de química fina mediante reacciones de acilación y alquilación empleando diferentes catalizadores con propiedades ácidas y texturales bien diferenciadas. La acilación de guayacol con ácido acético fue estudiada en fase gas a 250 °C y presión atmosférica sobre diferentes catalizadores ácidos: zeolitas (HBEA, HZSM-5, ZnZSM-5, NaZSM-5, HY y ZnY) y sólidos no zeolíticos (HPA/SiO2 y SiO2-Al2O3).Todos los catalizadores fueron activos en la reacción. Los productos primarios obtenidos fueron: 2-acetoxianisol (producto de la acilación del grupo OH del guayacol u O-acilación), acetovanillona y acetoisovanillona (productos de la acilación del anillo aromático o C-acilación) y catecol y veratrol (formados mediante desproporción y/o demetilación del guayacol). También se identificaron productos secundarios provenientes de subsecuentes reacciones de acilación y alquilación de catecol. La conversión de guayacol alcanzada fue similar para los diferentes sólidos, pero la distribución de los productos obtenidos está relacionada con las propiedades ácidas y texturales de los catalizadores evaluados y las condiciones de reaccion empleadas. La alquilación de guayacol con ciclohexeno y ciclohexanol fue estudiada en fase líquida a 80-110 °C sobre diferentes catalizadores sólidos ácidos: CsHPA, HPA/SiO2, ZrO2-SO4, Nb2O5-SO4, y resina Amberlyst 36. Los productos de la alquilación en el anillo aromático (CHFM) y el producto de la O-alquilación (CHFME) fueron los principales productos formados. Todos los sólidos fueron activos en la reacción de alquilación, sin embargo, los catalizadores CsHPA y Amberlyst 36, con sitios ácidos principalmente de naturaleza Brønsted, mostraron la mayor conversión de ciclohexeno y ciclohexanol y rendimiento a los productos C-alquilados.

In this thesis, the transformation of guaiacol into valuable products of fine chemistry is proposed through acylation and alkylation reactions using different catalysts with well differentiated acidic and textural properties. The acylation of guaiacol with acetic acid was studied in the gas phase at 250 ° C and atmospheric pressure on different acid catalysts: zeolites (HBEA, HZSM-5, ZnZSM-5, NaZSM-5, HY and ZnY) and non-zeolitic solids (HPA / SiO2 and SiO2-Al2O3). All catalysts were active in the reaction. The primary products obtained were: 2-acetoxyanisole (product of the acylation of the OH group of guaiacol or O-acylation), acetovanillone and acetoisovanillone (products of the acylation of the aromatic ring or C-acylation) and catechol and veratrol (formed by disproportion and / or demethylation of guaiacol). Secondary products from subsequent acylation and alkylation reactions of catechol were also identified. The conversion of guaiacol achieved was similar for the different solids, but the distribution of the products obtained is related to the acidic and textural properties of the catalysts evaluated and the reaction conditions used. The alkylation of guaiacol with cyclohexene and cyclohexanol was studied in liquid phase at 80-110 ° C on different acidic solid catalysts: CsHPA, HPA / SiO2, ZrO2-SO4, Nb2O5-SO4, and Amberlyst 36 resin. Alkylation products in the aromatic ring (CHFM) and the O-alkylation product (CHFME) were the main products formed. All solids were active in the alkylation reaction, however, the catalysts CsHPA and Amberlyst 36, with mainly Brønsted acid sites, showed the highest conversion of cyclohexene and cyclohexanol and yield to C-alkylated products.
