Characteristic of a new black soybean cultivar 'Sagakuro 7' with high-yield and antioxidant effect

'Sagakuro 7' was developed at Saga University and Saga Prefectural Agricultural Research Center from 1989 and was registered in 2017. This cultivar bred by backcross-breeding using traditional cultivar 'Tanbaguro'. The seed yield is 20% higher than that of 'Shintanbaguro'. The seed appearance is similar to that of 'Shintanbaguro' other than size. The flowering time is later than 'Shintanbaguro' for one day but the maturing time is earlier for 3 days. The branched angle is narrower than 'Shintanbaguro'. It is caused the works of management and harvest are easy. The seedling establishment rate is higher than 'Shintanbaguro'. The 100 seed weight is 10g lighter than 'Shintanbaguro', but the yield is 20% higher for more pods. The content rate of protein, crude fat, and saccarides are similar values. The luster of 'Sagakuro7go' is weak like 'Shintanbaguro', because the seed coat has bloom called 'wax powder'. Radical-scavenging activity of 'Sagakuro 7' is higher than that of 'Shintanbaguro'.
